Lucy Parish
Session Player in Lucy's Live Band

I was invited to play for Lucy Parish as part of her live band in late 2021. She is an up and coming artist from the University of Gloucestershire playing a mix of rock, emo and indie music. Since joining the band, we have played several gigs and written songs for her upcoming EP. Working with Lucy has challenged my playing greatly, I'm used to playing soft jazz and fusion music so it was a bit of a change of pace! However, I'm thoroughly enjoying the experience and I can't wait to play more shows with Lucy in the future.
2021
Jacob James
'Give What you Need and Take the Rest Away'
Playing as part of the session band for up and coming artist Jacob James was a dream!
I'm incredibly proud of what we achieved in such a short time period. Completing this EP was a mean feat, considering we wrote and recorded two tracks over three days. There were six session musicians in total, listed below, all of us cramming into one live room, sharing headphones, whilst Jacob, on classical guitar, was recorded in front of the mixing desk.
Nylon String Guitar - Jacob Simmons
Keys - Anthony Hulse
Electric Guitar - Joel Francis
Acoustic Guitar (Track 1 Only) - Joel Francis
Saxophone - Jeremy Burne
Trumpet - Rob Grady
Drums - Grayson Livingstone
Bass - Fraser James
My favourite track of the EP is titled 'Drinking Village with a Fishing Problem' it was the first song to come together and was such a special experience to record with some wonderful friends.
Zephyr
'Finding Your Feet'
Session player in Zephyr's Live Band
I worked with Zephyr for over two years, starting as their session player in 2019, until they graduated in 2021. The music we played was greatly challenging to me, forcing me to improve my bass playing and my ability to read sheet music. Working with Martha and Ant really pushed me as a musician and being able to be a part of their musical journey was incredible! Their EP felt like a distinct marker in my career as a session musician and I thoroughly enjoyed working with such talented individuals.

Funky Business
Session Bass Player

Funky Business are a fun, loud and energetic function band from Cheltenham. They perform upbeat classics from as far back as the 60s and have played countless shows in local venues as well as the likes of Wychwood Festival and as far a field as Barcelona. I was lucky enough to session for them on several occasions including their international show. It was brilliant to perform with a band with such incredibly stage presence and I've played some of my most enjoyable shows with them.
